Sailing To Byzantium is a selection of 12 beautiful settings of poems by W.B Yeats taken from Christine’s award winning album of the same name. She won a British Composer Award (now called The IVORS), for this work. The poems are chosen from Yeats’s early work through to his final collection and include love poems such as When You Are Old, written with the unattainable love of his life Maud Gonne, in mind, and also his poems that celebrate the transformative power of art and his desire to find a deeper spiritual truth, as in Sailing To Byzantium and Long-legged Fly. She  works with the poems on a deep intuitive level creating music that draws you into a world of unalloyed soulfulness, as in the hypnotic, prayer-like refrain at…
